Today my daughter and I took the train to Filey for a day out. If you're not from England, Filey is a traditional seaside resort on the Yorkshire coast.
It was pretty cold and windy but the sun was shining through the clouds and we warmed up walking along the beach and exploring rock pools.
This is the view in one direction along the promenade. As you can see there weren't many people about.
In the other direction the sun in the clouds makes it look quite late in the day but it was only noon.
At this end of the beach the rocks were covered in mussels
and there were rock pools to explore but at this time of year they mainly contained sea weed, mussels and limpets.
Your photos remind me of how much I love the seaside.............hurry up summer, bare toes, warm sand and sea breezes.........your photography's brilliant.

It still looks like a grand day out! There's always something so fun about a day out at the seaside. Hope you indulged in fish and chips!
ReplyDeleteMy eldest daughter and I went to the seaside last week, the weather was fab..Our 'local' beaches don't have rock pools though :(
ReplyDeleteI miss those from when I was a child.
Looks like your day was fab too :)
Have a great week. x
Your photographs are very beautiful. We used to live in Northumberland, I think we visited to coast as much in winter as in summer. I love all that wind, sun and big skies.

ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful way to spend the day. The scenery is so beautiful. We're covered in snow here in NY. I'm wondering if the sun will ever come out again!
ReplyDeleteBecause of problems with someone who reads my blog I've had to change my url address.

we used to have our annual holidays in Filey in the sixties, a caravan at Primrose Valley,(which was a few caravans in a field in those days, not the huge place I'm told it now is)- my brother and I were delegated to to fill the water carrier from a stand pipe, we loved it!
