Bit of a mixed bag

I've not had much to show over the last few days as I've been busy getting ready for Christmas.  Here are some orange and clove pomanders I made.  The card on the right is one I've had for over 30 years and I put it up every year because I love it.  The picture is made of foil and it changes as the light reflects on it.

I was taking a photo of the stove last night when a log exploded and this is what it looks like :

Thankfully we haven't had any snow this time round; the last lot will do me for the winter, but it is really cold and we've had some lovely frosts.  This chicken wire looks really good :

  1. I love oranges with cloves, the smell of cloves being pressed in to the orange is so christmassy, my daughter is busy doing one as we speak for our solstice table. I am in total love with our woodburner, I love everything about a wood fire, the heat is so different to central heating! Your chicken wire makes me think again about our lost chickens. I am waiting for the snow to abate before getting some more, but I do miss their friendly clucking and pecking at the kitchen scraps.
Thankyou again for the lovely mice, I hope you have a lovely Christmas there, keep warm, Blessings, Liz

  3. The smell of pomanders is gorgeous - reminds me of work.

I'm muchly admiring everyone's beautiful snow & frost photos. I'm just too much of a wuss to stand outside for long enough to take good pictures at the moment - it's too flipping cold!
